¿Qué son los capítulos ATA?

Son los estándares de la Air Transport Association (ATA). 

Esta asociación es la más grande de Norteamérica, reuniendo al 90% de las compañías aéreas, y una de las más influyentes del mundo. Se fundó en 1936 y tiene su sede en Washington, D.C. (pagina oficial de la ATA: http://www.airlines.org/). 

En 1956 la ATA elaboró las especificaciones para mantenimiento, llamadas ATA Espec 100. En este documento se recogen los números y nombres de los capítulos que toda publicación técnica de mantenimiento en aviación debe de tener.

Una especificación llamada ATA Spec 2100 se elaboró haciendo más enfasis en cuestiones electrónicas y por fin en el año 2000 se elaboró la actual iSpec 2200, que reune a las dos anteriores.

La importancia de este tipo de clasificación es que es la misma no importa del avión del que se trate, así, por ejemplo el capitulo dedicado al piloto automático es 22-10-00, lo mismo en un BOEING 747 que en un EMBRAER. 195.
